2005 Texas State & District 8 Tournament
The Tournament was held Friday & Saturday, August 26th & 27th , 2005
Congratulations go to Rupert Boeselt who won the Texas Open for
the 2nd time.
He is also the District 8 Champion. Fourteen players showed up
for this tournament,
and I must say, it was one of the toughest tournament
played in a long time.

We used the Swiss scoring system, which works like this. We play a two game round with the same drawn opening. One with the red checkers and one with the white. You get 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Your next opponent is then drawn from players that have an equal amount of points that you have and the one with the most points is the Champ. Ties are broken up by the players with the most honor points. Honor points are figured like this. The total points of your opponents are added up, dropping the one with the lowest points. The player with the most honor points takes the spot.............Steve
CROSS-TABLES
Here is how it went game by game. You read it like this. Each box has four numbers. The first is the players number that you played / points for game one / points for game 2 / the running total of all previous games.
Our condolences go out the three Oklahoma players that were lost
since out last tournament. they will be missed greatly!
Clarence
Feightner, Luther Stubblefield, and Dave Rawson
Our prayers go out to their families....
